TESTIMONIALS

Writing can be such a solitary journey, but IQC has turned it into something social, fun, and structured. The writing sprints not only feel productive and rewarding but also help connect with a community of authors, sharing struggles, and celebrating wins together. Beautiful initiative!

The journey of creating an art project often begins in a place of passion but can feel isolating, much like my experience with writing over the past decade. Initially, I navigated my writing in solitude, uncertain and without support. However, a few months ago, I discovered the Ink and Quill community through author events. This collective space brings together writers to share their journeys, fears, and techniques, fostering a nurturing environment free from judgment.

Ink and Quill has transformed my writing experience into one of encouragement and accountability. Here, we collaborate through writing sprints and receive constructive feedback from fellow writers at various stages in their craft. It feels like a family of diverse individuals dedicated to nurturing each other's projects. Since joining, I’ve made significant progress on my second book and even ventured into writing short stories—accomplishments I attribute to the community's support and motivation.

The community hosts engaging events, such as the “Murder and Mystery” night and the “Writer’s Journey,” featuring award-winning authors who inspire us with their experiences. Ink and Quill is not just a writing group; it’s a warm, safe haven where we can express ourselves, conquer writer's block, and celebrate our efforts together. As I reflect on this shared experience, I recognize it’s time to refer to this group as 'we,' because together, we each contribute to this fulfilling writing journey. Thank you, Ink and Quill Community.

The Ink and Quill Collective has been an invaluable resource for me as a writer. I joined seeking feedback on a specific chapter and found much more than I expected. The community fosters a supportive and challenging environment for serious writers, whether you're a seasoned author or an aspiring one.

IQC provides a daily dose of writing discipline and a genuine sense of camaraderie. If you're looking to elevate your craft to new heights, I highly recommend checking them out.

IQC is magical, really, once you get into it and follow the threads. It's a boon to not have to create alone at times or all the time, to find like minded folks, to get relevant tips about books, publishing and the craft, and share writings for critique because writing is such a solitary and tough profession! I love the community vibe and cheerleaders who keep pushing the members to write, share and publish! And, the fabulous writing sprints! And, truly, this was much needed in India where unlike in some countries, there are not very many such communities to belong here. I see IQC as a virtual home for writers with an extended family of intellectually rich and emotionally available people. Where else can writers find such homes?

My time at IQC has been incredibly inspiring and motivating. Witnessing fellow members' accomplishments, experiencing the camaraderie, and receiving support have all fueled my passion for writing. I especially look forward to sprinting sessions, which have taught me valuable lessons. Critiquing colleagues' work has also been a fantastic learning experience. Although my time here has been brief, I've gained so much.

Writing is a deeply satisfying and richly rewarding exercise to express thoughts and ideas. It is a tool to meaningfully construct. But this construction, brick by brick, can be overwhelming.

This is where a community can play a pivotal role - as a reassuring voice of reason and as a reminder that the struggle is not exclusive. The struggle is not an exception, but the norm.

Ink & Quill Collective ( IQC) is a community composed of writers, spread across the country & beyond, with a collective love for the craft.

The community continues to evolve through a range of initiatives : Writing sprints that build a daily discipline of showing up to write;  Peer-review sessions to get responses that can sharpen your next story; A Writer’s Journey to interact with acclaimed author voices. These initiatives, along with many others, create a wholesome ecosystem for a writer to learn, process and chisel out their own path.

For me, the biggest draw of this group is the selfless drive to help. There’s always someone to ideate with you when you are stuck, offer advice on a craft related question, volunteer to beta-read a piece when you really need it. The group celebrates its members’ milestones with the loudest cheer and puts forth empathetic words of support during rejections ( a usual constant for a writer).

So if at any point you feel writing is a lonely exercise, try joining this group. You will experience one less challenge in your writing journey.

The Ink & Quill Collective has been a game-changer for my writing journey! Writing is a lonely job, and it’s so easy to just lose our spirit and ourselves along the way. This is where IQC came to my rescue! This is a thoroughly vibrant and supportive community that keeps me motivated and inspired.
The daily sprints are a lifesaver—they’ve helped me overcome procrastination and build a consistent writing habit. But it’s more than just the sprints; it’s the incredible community of writers who share their knowledge, offer feedback, and cheer each other on. The discussions about books, writing, and everything in between are priceless. I’ve learned so much from fellow members, and the sense of camaraderie is truly special.
I’m so grateful for the people I’ve met through IQC and the growth I’ve experienced.

Joining Ink Quill Collective (IQC) was a game-changer. This vibrant community of writers offers invaluable support and resources that have truly helped writers to grow, pushing us to refine our craft and explore new creative avenues.
IQC goes above and beyond by actively sharing links to writing competitions and opportunities, keeping me informed and motivated. The writing sprints are a fantastic way to connect with fellow writers, overcome procrastination, and boost productivity. It's incredibly motivating to write alongside others and see those word counts climb higher!
But what truly sets IQC apart is its commitment to fostering a learning environment. The author sessions with well-known writers have been incredibly inspiring and informative. Hearing from established authors about their experiences, challenges, and successes has provided invaluable insights and guidance.
The supportive community, valuable resources, and opportunities for growth have made it an essential part of my writing life. I highly recommend IQC to any writer seeking to connect, learn, and thrive.

For me, personally, IQC was a godsend. Arijit Nandi and Lee Nolan are not only excellent and disciplined writers, but they also helped me get settled in Northeast India during a personal moment of crisis, and I will never forget their nonchalant selflessness. Of IQC, I can definitively say that there are few writer group in India that care so much about the craft, that we have hour-long discussions on writing prompts or 'plot vs character'. In a social media landscape where everything seems to be artifically commodified, contrived, marketed, business-modelled and bled to an inch of its life, I am privileged to be part of a writer's group that is a breath of organic, fresh air. The IQC is many Creative Writing Course clubbed into one, and the joke of it all is that it's for free!

IQC has been a part of my writing since time eternity... I say that with conviction because it has sailed alongside my highs and lows in the literary world. Any query I have to date, I find solutions in the group and it's an unconditional support to all authors out there. This is a perfect example of an enterprise by the authors, of the authors and for the authors. A one-stop destination for complete learning 🥰
The sprints are a lesson in itself and a rap on the knuckles to keep that writing going😄
Proud to be a part of IQC

I joined IQC in the fall of 2024 while searching for a writing community, and it’s been an incredible experience! I’ve had the chance to connect with so many talented writers and discover new avenues for submitting my work.

Beyond that, this community has been a source of unwavering support. Whether it was battling cold feet before hitting the submit button for a magazine or a competition or sharing frustrations about writer’s block, the encouragement I’ve received here has been invaluable.

As a writer who seeks a space to express vulnerabilities and celebrate small victories, being a part of IQC has been nothing short of transformative. I feel so grateful to belong to such a warm, generous, and inspiring group of writers who truly make the journey of writing less solitary and so much more rewarding.

IQC members are some of the most nurturing, supportive people I’ve ever had the pleasure of writing with. The sprint link is something I used regularly to get a 6000 word short story written, within deadline. Imagine my surprise when during one such sprint, when I mentioned my short story deadline, the lovely writers put down their pens mid-sprint and said well beta read your story. And what incisive beta reading - they gently pulled apart my story exposing all my blunders. And I was able to move from shitty first draft to polished submittable draft much sooner than I’d expected to. I’m eternally indebted to these wonderful creatures, and am determined to follow in their footsteps. Here’s to literary nurturing and authorly wins 💜

IQC is an incredibly warm, positive and egalitarian community of writers, both established and aspiring. I love the vibe of the group, the various initiatives that the core team creates for the benefit of everyone and, most importantly, the writer buddies I've made so far. Anyone who wants to build a writing practice and take their writing beyond the level of a hobby will benefit from knowing and interacting with IQC members.

As a writer passionate about storytelling and creating meaningful narratives, Ink & Quill Collective has been a game-changer for me. From helping me craft and refine my stories to motivating me to write consistently, it has reignited my passion for writing after facing years of creative block.

What makes IQC truly special is its supportive community, where writers uplift one another. The daily writing sprints, weekly peer reviews, writer’s journey meets, and the inspiring conversations focused solely on writing have kept me motivated and dedicated to my craft.

A heartfelt thank you to the founder of Ink & Quill Collective for creating this incredible space for writers. Wishing you all the best for future projects—let’s continue to grow together!

The Ink and Quill Collective has been instrumental in making me think of myself as a serious writer. As someone who circulated her first drafts amongst family and friends, I had not considered (in earnest) publishing my works. This has changed and some of the credit must go to IQC. At IQC I have found empathetic readers, meticulous editors, incisive critics and, most importantly, friends. As I focus on improving my craft, IQC has provided the safe niche needed to explore and dare. I wish IQC the very best!

Pakistan is a hard country for journalists. Indeed, I’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to write without censorship and to enjoy the free trade of ideas —  so essential to storytelling of any kind. Yet this is something I have experienced everyday since being warmly welcomed into IQC. There, no one allows personal genre preferences to interfere with the shared creative process or in providing constructive feedback. Of course, Pakistan is not home to a homogeneous society. But India, being much larger, naturally boasts more cultural diversity. Interacting with writers there — many of whom have been published— is both humbling and inspirational. It also underscores how the peoples of both sides desire peace even if their respective governments fall off the beaten diplomacy trail.

There’s always something to do at IQC. From weekly peer review sessions to guest author talks. And, of course, the writing sprints that take place throughout the day. And night; for the vampires amongst us. Since leaving full-time media work — I have struggled a little with the isolation that working on a manuscript inevitably invites. But the good folk at IQC have transformed my writing experience. It is no longer feels like a solitary affair. This is the best news for my cats who deserve a day off once in a while!
