Weekly Peer Reviews
The Ink Quill Collective's Weekly Peer Reviews or Friday Feedback sessions (as it was previously called) is one of IQC's core activites. In a recent discussion, with the IQC members - Taru Agarwal, Chitra Iyer, and Nupur Jain who were among the first four members who submitted to our peer review sessions shared their experiences, highlighting the impact of peer review on their writing journeys. The interview was conducted a day before the 50th Weekly Peer Review Session - a moment both of celebration and reflection.
These sessions, which began as part of the 10:30 a.m. Sprint in December 2023, have evolved into structured peer reviews where writers receive constructive criticism from fellow authors. Writers can submit anything from short stories to poetry, gaining insights from diverse perspectives. Unlike family and friends, who often provide only encouragement, IQC reviewers offer in-depth critique, helping writers improve their narrative, structure, and language.

For many, the feedback has been transformative. Taru realized the importance of balancing critique with confidence in her work. Nupur saw her poetry published in international journals based on IQC suggestions. Chitra found fresh perspectives on her short stories, leading to one being published in the Penfluenza Anthology.
All three guests agreed that security of their submissions were a priority. To that effect they talk about how the submissions are shared only with designated reviewers, ensuring a safe and accountable feedback process.
For aspiring and established writers alike, IQC Weekly Review remains an invaluable opportunity to grow. As Chitra puts it, "You would be crazy to miss the chance for this kind of feedback for free!"
Stay tuned for the next session—your writing deserves it!
