"Writing can feel solitary, but at the writing sprints, you’re never alone."

The heart of IQC lies in its Writing Sprints. We began in 2023 as a simple writing sprint group that met three times every weekday where we chatted for a few minutes and wrote in companionable silence for an hour. Within a year, our sprints evolved but the core format remained the same. Today our sprints run every day and anytime of the day, hosted by admins and members alike.

What is a Writing Sprint?
Our Writing Sprint is a focused, timed session where writers gather to write as much as possible within a set period, often 30 minutes to an hour. It is a safe space for creativity and connection. Discussions at the start of a sprint offer insights, inspiration, and encouragement to keep the words flowing
How does it work ?
Our Writing Sprint happens online. The Sprint Link (affectionately called the writing cave) is a google meet link and it is open around the clock, everyday. An admin or a member announces a sprint in the Discussion Group a few minutes prior to the start. Every sprint kicks off with a 15-minute discussion that’s as dynamic as the family itself. Some days, we dive deep into the craft—debating plot structures, sharing editing hacks, or dissecting what makes characters memorable. Other times, it’s an open and honest conversation about the struggles and joys of writing—whether it’s balancing creativity with life’s demands or finding the courage to share your work. Post discussion, we quietly write for an hour. Our members use the hour to write or edit their drafts or to journal or to work on an academic writing assignment. As long as it's related to writing, you can use the hour as you please.
"Prime time for the sprints are 7 am, 9 am, 10:30 am, 9 pm IST. But any member can begin a sprint on their own at their own convenient time. All you need to do is announce few minutes prior so that like minded writers can join you too."
