September Submission Madness

The interview with the winners of the September Submission Madness 2024 at the Ink & Quill Collective (IQC) highlighted the transformative impact of structured peer feedback. Hosted by Arijit Nandi, the discussion featured Vidhan R Verma, Saurin Desai, Sarva Mitra, and Ashni Mohnot, who shared their experiences with the intensive review process. The event, designed to provide in-depth critique for writers, involved 11 authors, 17 beta readers, and three review sessions per participant.

The authors spoke about how the process pushed them beyond their comfort zones, offering feedback from diverse perspectives that helped refine their work. They appreciated the iterative nature of the reviews, allowing them to revise and resubmit their pieces with fresh insights. For some, it reinforced their confidence in their chosen genres, while for others, it provided clarity on areas of improvement, such as character development and narrative structure.

The conversation also touched on the value of community-driven critique, the importance of balancing feedback with personal creative vision, and the discipline required to meet submission deadlines. The authors unanimously recommended the experience, emphasizing the immense value of structured reviews, constructive criticism, and the supportive network that IQC fosters.
