Razliubit and Slowly Falling out of Love
Smita Vyas Kumar
This piece is a memoir on the life cycle of a crafts business that I founded and ran for twelve years. It is a look at the motivations behind a business being born, its growth and then the reasons why a successful business can shut down. I wrote this piece as a tribute to the business I grew and loved over a decade. It maps my personal growth against the growth of the business. This piece is also about letting go of things that no longer serve you and the importance of moving on and not looking back.

Smita Vyas Kumar
Smita Vyas Kumar has had various avatars: entrepreneur, movie reviewer, ghostwriter, poet, artist, salesperson amongst others and hopes to try as many new personas as life can offer her. An alum of IIM-Bangalore, she has made good use of her education in everything but a corporate job. She enjoys singing, playing the piano and her collection of percussion instruments and doodling on the backs of envelopes, newspaper margins, and any other paper she can lay her hands on. She enjoys listening to new music and dancing to the latest foot-tapping songs playing on the loudspeakers outside her house in Sewri, Mumbai .
